Week 2
Kindergarten
We have might have had our last snow fall before spring arrives. So that got me thinking about this weeks book.
Listen to the book Snowmen All Year by Carolyn Buehner. This book is a seek and find book. There are hidden pictures in each of the illustrations. After you listen to the story, think of an activity or a project that would help you remember the book. What would you do with your snowman if it lasted all year?

You can also check out the video on Ancient and Byzantine mosaic materials on Kahn Academy. It shows how mosaics were originally created using tile stone and glass. For this activity we will be using paper.
To do:
Create a kindness mosaic. You can create the kindness mosaic using colorful paper, or you can color your own papers. Write nice things on the papers and then glue the papers to a bigger paper when you do nice things for others.

This week we are going to look at Non Objective art. Non Objective art is a variation of Abstraction that doesn't attempt to represent the things we see in the natural world. Non Objective art is more than just colors, lines and shapes though! It represents things that are difficult to explain with words such as feelings and senses. View the activity videos and follow along if you can.
